High performance Icon Pontiac 455 forged pistons are premium quality pistons that are available for a very reasonable price. We have these forged piston sets available in a wide range of sizes including standard bore and many popular oversizes. If you are building a Pontiac 455 engine and are looking for improved acceleration, efficiency and strength then these pistons are the perfect choice for many applications.
These pistons can be used in high performance street cars, muscle car restorations, serious street and strip cars as well as dedicated racing engines. The large variety of piston sizes, styles and compression ratios enables you to get the best specifications pistons for your exact application.
Pontiac 455 Engine Specs
For reference the original stock 455 Pontiac engine specifications were:
- Engine block deck height 10.250 inches
- Cylinder bore standard size 4.151 inches
- Crankshaft stock stroke 4.210
- Connecting rod length 6.630 inches
- Wrist pin diameter .980 inch

- Unique skirt designs provide reduced friction while maintaining piston stability in the cylinder
- Icon Premium series forged pistons are made from ultra heavy duty 2618 alloy. FHR series are 4032 Alloy.

455 Pontiac Connecting Rods
While you are replacing your engine pistons it is a good time to also upgrade your rotating assembly by installing modern connecting rods. Why risk damage to your freshly rebuilt performance engine by installing used connecting rods that have been through who knows how many engine cycles and stress.
With the high cost of machine shop service these days you can often upgrade to far stronger modern rods for not much more than the cost of reconditioning a set of use rods.
Molnar Technologies H Beam Pontiac 455Connecting Rods
Molnar Technologies H Beam rods are machined from billet 4340 steel, and then heat treated to provide improved strength. To make the rods even stronger, they are shot peened to which also increases fatigue life. All Molnar connecting rods are fitted with highly durable premium bronze bushings for use with floating pin type pistons. Each rod set includes ARP fasteners, moly lubricant and installation guidelines. All Molnar rods are finished in the United States at the Molnar Technologies shop in Michigan. Critical rod dimensions are are held to very precise tolerances of +/- .0001 of an inch, which is the tightest tolerance you will find in the performance and racing aftermarket.
