The JW Ultra bell is a complete replacement bellhousing that is also a SFI certified flexplate shield. A stock OEM type automatic transmission bellhousing was never intended to handle the power levels that are being produced by today's HP and racing engines and the hard launches provided by modern tire technology and suspension. The JW Ultra-bell is approximately 600 times stronger than original stock type bellhousings. The JW Ultra bell is built to SFI specifications to restrict and contain a flexplate, flywheel, explosion. Since the Ultrabell meets the SFI flywheel shield requirements for racing, you do not have to run a separate flexplate, flywheel, shield to meet racing sanctioning body rules.

The Ultra-bell is also great when used as a transmission adapter to adapt numerous transmission and engine combinations together, in a simple easy to install package. The Ultra bell enables many special engine and transmission combinations to be mated together. For instance, a Mopar engine can be mated to a GM transmission easily by using the proper Ultrabell transmission adapter. Trans adapter list here.
The JW ultra-bells one piece aluminum casting withstands severe twisting in the highest powered applications and fits under stock floors. The high strength construction of the ultrabell can withstand even the most severe tire shake, wheelstands, off road use, pulling competitions, and more. Installation is easily done by removing the stock bellhousing and bolting the Ultra bell to the front pump with the supplied high grade bolts.

SFI Certification Reminder
A SFI certified flexplate shield is required for sanctioned drag racing events for vehicles running 11.99 seconds or quicker in the 1/4 mile, 7.49 seconds or quicker in the 1/8 mile, or any vehicle that exceeds 135 mph on the strip. SFI certification is valid for 5 years. With a stock automatic transmission bellhousing, you have to run a separate transmission shield like we have listed on our website here: SFI Flexplate Shields This is a separate shield that you install between the automatic transmission bellhousing and back of the engine block. Another benefit of the JW Ultrabell is that when using the Ultra Bell, it is certified as the SFI required flexplate shield, so you do NOT have to run a separate flexplate or flywheel shield.
The JW Ultra Bell, Ultra Case, flexplate shields, flywheel shields and transmission shields that we sell, all have the most current available SFI certification decal available at the time of sale. You will not be getting a part that has a SFI decal that is already many months or even years old. This saves you money be insuring the longest possible time before a required SFI re-certification.
